Update on Longitudinal Medical Record (LMR) View-Only Rollout
1. The LMR View-Only Rollout went live on Monday
November 4 with much success. More than 1,000 BICS CI Users were provided access to the LMR application. With access to the LMR, any user can access up-to-date patient and results information from multiple institutions including BWH, MGH and Faulkner. Physicians who are interested in using the LMR as their ambulatory outpatient record or for viewing purposes should contact Allison Benoit at abenoit@partners.org for further information.
2. Update on LMR Ambulatory Implementations at BWH
The LMR Team continues to aggressively implement the LMR application at many of the ambulatory practices at BWH. Since July of 2000, the LMR application has been successfully implemented in more than 22 primary care and specialty practices.
In 2003, additional specialty practices will be addressed. These include Orthopedics, Otolaryngology, the Breast Center, the Renal Division and Cardiology.
3. Update on Windows 2000 Rollout
As of November 2002, 450 clinical, 220 public and 470 private workstations have been upgraded to Windows 2000. Over the course of the next 12 to 18 months, the operating system will be implemented in more than 5,000 workstations. High priority is being given to areas that have applications that require Windows 2000. These areas have been identified by hospital leaders, and are being reviewed by Network Services for staging. Staging is determined primarily based on the number of applications that the department uses and the size of the department. The procedure for the department rollout is designed to ensure that all applications will continue working after the upgrade.
