BWPO Builds Upon Existing Membership in 2003
The BWPO is pleased to announce that effective January 1, a total of 161 BWH physicians will join ranks with their BWPO colleagues as employees of the BWPO. In 2003, the physicians in the departments of Emergency Medicine and Psychiatry and the divisions of Primary Care, and Rheumatology, Immunology & Allergy will become members of the BWPO. With these additions, the faculty of all clinical departments at BWH are now members of the BWPO.
“Joining the BWPO will help Primary Care optimize the management of its practices. Both the BWPO and the hospital have been extremely supportive during this transition time and we look forward to a strong collaborative relationship with both,” said David Fairchild, MD, MPH, director, Primary Care Services.
“We are very excited at the prospect of joining our colleagues in the BWPO, which has provided outstanding services and a powerful voice to the physicians at BWH,” added Ron Walls, MD, chair, Emegency Medicine.
In addition, 24 physicians, new to the hospital, but part of existing BWPO departments-Medicine (divisions of Cardiology, Renal and Endocrine), Neurology, Pathology and Radiology (Faulkner Radiology)—will be added to the organization.
