Hospital Leadership from India Tour BWH
Leaders from Wockhardt Hospitals Ltd. tour BWH.
In April, 13 leaders from India’s Wockhardt Hospitals Ltd. got a first-hand look at the role information technology plays at BWH when they toured various departments to view the use of technology.
The group was attending a week-long leadership program organized by Partners Harvard Medical International (PHMI), a Partners HealthCare group that works with health care organizations around the world. Wockhardt, a network of seven super specialty care hospitals with 1,000 beds throughout India, has been collaborating with PHMI since 2001 to enhance service delivery.
At BWH, the group engaged in a discussion about the ways BWH reduces dispensing errors and potential adverse drug events through eMAR with Cathy Andrew and Michael Sweet, Clinical Systems team leads. The team also toured several departments and met with Eric Poon, MD, director of Clinical Informatics, who shared his experience in creating health information technology in a clinical setting.
