New Name: Harvard NeuroDiscovery Center
The Harvard NeuroDiscovery Center, formerly the Harvard Center for Neurodegeneration and Repair, has a new tagline to go with its new name: “Collaborating to Cure Neurodegenerative Disease.” The center’s purpose is to transform promising discoveries into effective treatments and cures for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, ALS and Huntington’s.
Established in 2001 by Joseph Martin, then the HMS dean, and Dennis Selkoe, co-director of BWH’s Center for Neurologic Diseases, the Harvard NeuroDiscovery Center is a biomedical research collaboration under the direction of Dr. Adrian Ivinson. The center has engaged more than 600 researchers from across the HMS and beyond in a growing portfolio of outcome-directed research programs.
