Primary Care Hosts LMR Sessions
BWH Primary Care hosted approximately 65 users of the Longitudinal Medical Record for its second annual training event designed to bring front-end users of LMR together with representatives from the Partners IS LMR Team. This event brings together primary care physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants with LMR developers for detailed demonstrations and training.
“The LMR is our official outpatient medical record and a valuable tool for the delivery of care,” said Robert Goldszer, MD, MBA, BWH associate chief medical officer and director of Primary Care. “The LMR Team has done a tremendous job with continued enhancements in direct response to user feedback.”
The Primary Care user event featured peer-led presentations. Physicians, nurse practitioners or physician assistants co-presented on various enhancements with an LMR team developer. In addition, the LMR team and experienced users shared tips and tricks as the group worked through each tab of the system, including “End of Visit” or EOV, a different way for physician to review diagnostic codes, lab orders and other functions.
Approximately 3,000 users have access to the LMR, and more and more physicians are taking advantage of e-prescribing through LMR, a critical part of hospital and BWPO efforts to improve outpatient safety and quality and to treat patients in the most cost effective manner.
