BWH’s Media Relations Policy
Any BWH staff member contacted directly by the media should refer reporters to Public Affairs and gain approval before speaking to the press.
BWH appears in the news almost daily, whether it be on local television or in local newspapers or national news outlets. Please remember that hospital policy requires that all media inquiries be referred to the Public Affairs Department.
Any BWH clinician or researcher contacted directly by the media should refer reporters to Public Affairs and gain approval before speaking to the press. In addition, all media—including photographers or film crews—must be escorted by Public Affairs when present on hospital property.
This policy is meant to benefit the hospital as well as its staff and employees. In addition, staff are encouraged to alert Public Affairs well in advance of the publication of research in order for the department to develop media awareness of the work.
