Laurie E. Katzman, MD, MPH, a primary care physician and the medical director at Brigham and Women’s at Newton Corner, threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Boston Red Sox game against the Chicago White Sox last Friday night, September 12, at Fenway Park. The Red Sox recognized Katzman for her volunteer efforts on behalf of the Lupus Foundation, where she is vice chair of the Board of Trustees and chair of the Patient Services and Education Committee. Katzman was recently featured in the Lupus Foundation video case statement and was also awarded a Summa Award for her volunteer work.
