Recognizing the importance of rewarding employees for their contribution to the hospital, BWH has announced a merit-based zero-to-four-percent (funded at 3 percent) FY 04 wage and salary program for weekly employees not covered by a collective bargaining agreement. For those employees at or over their salary range maximum, a zero-to-three-percent (funded at 2 percent) increase has been approved. In addition, based upon a review of the market, salary range maximums will be increased by three percent.
The merit-based increase applies to those who rate at level three or higher on their written performance evaluation.
“We are pleased to present a solid compensation program for our staff, especially given the difficult financial challenges in today’s economy. In addition to being able to provide a merit increase comparable to other rates in the market, the FYO4 program maintains our commitment to staff satisfaction,” said Cheryl Locke, vice president, BWH Human Resources.
According to Locke, the hospital has also reserved contingency funding to ensure that the hospital can adjust for market conditions in the coming fiscal year.
“We recognize that our efforts to improve BWH as a place to work and receive care are founded upon satisfied and challenged employees. We applaud your work over the last year and want to continue our efforts to improve your quality of worklife with this wage and salary program, the ongoing Staff Survey process, and the many other services and programs that are geared to making BWH a top employer in the area and region,” said BWH President Gary L. Gottlieb, MD, MBA.
