BWH mourns the loss of Kimberly Reynolds, MPA, FACHE, a former administrator in the Department of Medicine. She died Aug. 19 after battling ovarian cancer. She was 48.
Ms. Reynolds, of Rochester, New York, earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from SUNY Buffalo and a master’s in public administration from SUNY Brockport. Prior to joining BWH, she worked at Children’s Hospital Boston. In 2013, she joined Arnot Medical Center in New York as director of Physician Relations and Community Affairs. Ms. Reynolds enjoyed traveling, reading, watching tennis and cheering on her favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys.
Ms. Reynolds enjoyed her role at BWH and expressed her pride in the work being done to support clinical care, the systems being implemented by the supporting physicians, and staff involved in making the service a cohesive operation. She was a founding member of the BWH Leadership Roundtable, a group for administrative leaders.
Friends and co-workers described Ms. Reynolds as a true leader with a kind spirit. They said she was an exceptional professional who believed in people and loved a good laugh.
“Kim was always smiling no matter what kind of day she was having,” said friend and colleague Meenu Tuteja, MD, MBA, MPH, of the Brigham Research Institute.
Melanie Morris, who had been friends with Ms. Reynolds for the past 22 years, said she’ll miss her travel companion and the person in whom she could always confide.
Ms. Reynolds is survived by her parents, Margaret and Robert; brother, Garrett; sisters, Rochelle and Phoebe; her niece and nephew; and many friends.
A memorial service at BWH in Ms. Reynolds’ memory is planned to take place later this fall. Email charmon1@partners.org for more details.
