ICD-10 Update The ICD-10 team is pleased to report that the BWHC ICD-10 Provider Training Plan and timelines have been finalized. Visit the ICD-10 page to view these materials online.
If the Media Contacts You Do you know what to do if a member of the media contacts you? Per BWH policy, you should immediately contact Communication & Public Affairs at 617-525-6370 during normal business hours or page the Public Affairs on-call staff member at 617-732-6660, pager #13160 after hours, on weekends and during holidays. A member of BWH's Media Relations team must approve all requests for interviews, whether via phone, email or in person, and must escort all media (broadcast and print) and photographers while on site. Visit BWHPikeNotes.org to view the policy (section 2.1.4).
BWH Hackathon, Sept. 12-14 The BWH Hackathon, Sept. 12-14, will bring together inventive, forward-thinking minds to change the status quo and create disruptive solutions in health care today. The event provides a unique opportunity to collaborate with experts in a variety of fields and novices with a passion for innovation. Pitch an idea for transforming a current health care process and then, together, ‘hack' or devise a real solution. Visit disruptingmedicine.org/2014-hackathon/ to learn more and apply to participate.
HealthStream Assignments HealthStream assignments must be completed by Sept. 30. This year, attestations are being assigned to the entire BWH community, in lieu of full courses. This revised process reduces the annual time commitment to complete these assignments. Anyone with incomplete assignments from 2013 will need to complete them before completing the 2014 attestations. Check for your assignments at Partners Applications > Utilities > HealthStream. Learn more at www.partners.org/healthstream.
