Tower Elevators Update A few projects this summer aim to decrease transit times for the Tower elevators. Mechanical solutions, such as closing the elevator doors more quickly, are under evaluation. New signage around the elevators will also be installed this summer as part of BWH's way-finding improvement initiative, alerting passengers to other nearby elevator banks. Eighty percent of passenger trips are three floors or less, so signage will also direct people to the stairs. A number of middle- and long-range plans to shorten transit times are under review, with more information forthcoming.
