March 16 through 22 marked the annual Pulmonary Rehabilitation Week at BWH. As part of this year’s celebration, a new piece of equipment was dedicated to the Pulmonary Division, thanks to the generosity of family members of the late Ernie Wheeler, a former pulmonary rehabilitation patient. On Tuesday, a blue ribbon was cut by Wheeler’s wife, Ruth (pictured with her two daughters), inaugurating a new set of training stairs to serve the Division’s patients. The celebration was led by Priscilla E. Peruzzi, RRT; Susan Peterson, RRT; and Sarah E. Khooper, EPMS, all members of the Outpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation Department at BWH. “Ernie was a great friend, which is why this new piece of equipment means a lot to all of us,” said Khooper. “This is a great contribution to the department.”
