Wins Award for Women’s Health Content
Web Policies Drive Award Winning Design
BWH has a longstanding national reputation as the leading provider of health care to women. Now that legacy has been extended into cyberspace as BWH’s Marketing and Planning Department received the Best Overall Internet Site award for its women’s health center of excellence site, from eHealthcare Strategy and Trends, a monthly publication that offers online resources and provides best practices for internet marketing and strategy.
BWH and the other 2002 award winners were selected from more than 1,000 entries from hospitals, health plans, pharmaceutical and device firms, among others. Entries for best overall internet site had “to include delivery of strong health content, interactivity, medical care support, integration with the organization’s operations, as well as strength of web design and ease of navigation,” according to eHealthcare.
“This recognition speaks to the collaborative effort of our staff and others who have worked to launch BWH’s internet site and continue to keep it current and interesting to on-line visitors in a way that reflects the hospital’s high quality of care,” said Vicki Amalfitano, vice president of Marketing and Planning, who cited Marketing’s Web Manager Gayle Halfond and Amanda Bishop of Information Systems as key contributors to the success of www.brighamandwomens.org
The Women’s Health component of BWH’s web site contains extended resources dedicated to the well-being of women, such as information on pregnancy and childbirth, cancer, psychiatric services, research and more.
