Some 144 golfers hit the links on Monday, Sept. 23, to help raise more than $200,000 for Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Organized by the Friends of Brigham and Women’s Hospital, the 7th Annual Golf Classic was held at the Charles River Country Club in Newton and was supported by more than 50 corporate sponsors.
Money raised from the event supports the medical, research and teaching mission of BWH. In the past, funds raised by the Friends have supported Camp We-Can-Tu for children with epilepsy, art for patient rooms, state-of-the-art equipment, and a wide range of hospital services, including the Blood Bank and Patient Family Relations.
Among those attending the event and swinging in support of BWH were BWH President Gary Gottlieb, MD, MBA; PHS Chairman of the Board Jack Connors; honorary event chairperson John E. Kavanagh III; and Charles River Country Club host Raymond Reilly, MD. For more information about the Friends of BWH or the fundraiser, contact Mary Lou Corradino at ext. 2-8125.
