Neurologists and staff of the BWH and MGH movement disorders units have joined together to create a comprehensive, fully integrated clinical center for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders.
The new Partners Parkinson and Movement Disorders Treatment Center was officially launched with an open house on February 20 at the center’s new MGH location. Partners leadership joined John Growdon, MD, director of the new center, to welcome Partners staff and patients at the open house.

Thibault, MD, Partners vice president for Clinical Affairs; and James J. Mongan, MD, president of the MGH; Martin A. Samuels, MD, chair of the Neurology Department at BWH; and John H. Growdon, MD, director of the Partners Parkinson and Movement Disorders Treatment Center.
According to Growdon, the center not only combines the expertise of the movement disorder clinics from the BWH and MGH but also provides linkages to other Partners-affiliated hospitals that offer Parkinsons-related treatment and care – mainly Newton-Wellesley Hospital and North Shore Medical Center.
