Chiodo Takes on New Leadership Roles
Christopher Chiodo, MD, Department of Orthopedic Surgery at BW/F, in December was elected president of the Massachusetts Orthopedic Association. As president, Chiodo will work closely with the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the Massachusetts Medical Society. He also will participate in the National Orthopedic Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C.
The Massachusetts Orthopedic Association was founded in 1981 and has more than 400 members. As the state’s orthopedic specialty society, the Massachusetts Orthopedic Association organizes physician and patient educational initiatives and promotes state and national legislation affecting orthopedists and orthopedic patients.
Chiodo also was recently appointed chief of the Foot and Ankle Division within the BW/F Department of Orthopedic Surgery. In this position, he will be responsible for coordinating residency and fellowship activities and educational agendas, organizing research efforts and initiatives, helping integrate podiatry and orthopedic services and recruiting physicians.
