BWH Researchers Celebrate
Friday, June 23 marked the 3rd annual “Partners Night at the Pops: A Celebration in Honor of our Physicians.” Physicians from BWH, MGH, North Shore, Newton-Wellesley, Faulkner, Spaulding, McLean and Partners Community HealthCare joined their guests to make up an audience of over 2000 for this special Boston Pops concert at Symphony Hall. A highlight of the evening came when Partners’ own musical talent—28 physicians from throughout Partners—joined Pops conductor Keith Lockhart on stage to sing a medley of Irish tunes. Three physician choruses—the Harmonious Healers, the Caregiving Crooners, and the Medical Maestros—serenaded the audience with “Harrigan,” “My Wild Irish Rose”, and “McNamara’s Band.” An impromptu audience vote for best chorus gave all three a resounding “two thumbs up,” and Lockhart declared the contest “too close to call.” The evening’s grand finale featured Partners Board Chair Jack Connors, Jr. conducting the Pops orchestra in a rousing rendition of “Stars and Stripes Forever.” The evening was made possible through the generosity of John Hancock and Hill Holliday.
