Learning and Improvement Sessions—From Planning to Implementation—A Team’s Road to Success
11 a.m.-1 p.m. Carrie M. Hall Conference Center This interactive learning session is designed to give managers and employees hands-on experience on structuring improvement work that can positively impact their departments and patients, as well as theoretical and practical knowledge regarding continuous quality improvement and building a successful team.
Fae Golden Kass Lecture—“Genetic Analysis of Breast and Ovarian Cancer”
May 10, 4 p.m. Carl E. Walter Amphitheater, Harvard Medical School Mary-Claire King of the University of Washington will give the twenty-first annual Fay Golden Kass Lecture. This lectureship was created by the family and friends of Fae Golden Kass to support an annual lecture by a woman in the medical sciences. An informal reception will follow the lecture. Annual Corporate Spelling Bee
May 23, 4:30-7 p.m. Federal Reserve Bank Three excellent spellers are sought to represent BWH and MGH at the Boston Adult Literacy Fund's Annual Corporate Spelling Bee. The event begins at 4:30 and ends at 7:00pm with a buffet supper immediately following. Spellers interested in participating should contact Darby Brigham in Partners Community Benefit Programs at 278-1053 no later than Friday May 20.
Bright Horizons Daycare
Slots are still available in the brand new Bright Horizons Daycare center, which will open in June 2000. The center doubles the routine child care BWH offers to its staff and employees. Interested in Yoga?
Classes are now being offered for interested staff and employees at all levels of experience beginning May 10 every Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the Bayles Conference Room. Enjoy a rejuvenating mid-day break incorporating breathing, brief meditation, classical yoga stretching, toning, and relaxation. Please bring either a yoga mat, towel or blanket. $9 per class or sign up for eight weeks and pay only $8 per class.
