Tell us what's on your mind and vote for topics that you'd like discussed via a survey. Presentations will be based on the most popular topics, with plenty of time for Q&A. 2013 Boston Heart Walk, Sept. 7
This year's Heart Walk will take place Sept. 7. A great way to help fund and support the life-saving mission of the American Heart Association (AHA), the walk promotes physical activity and heart-healthy living in a fun environment of family, friends and colleagues. Living with Brain Tumors, Sept. 7
Join the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for a free, educational event for adult brain tumor patients and family members, Sept. 7, 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., 450 Brookline Ave., Boston. DFCI physicians, nurses and social workers will share updates on research and treatment for brain tumors, as well as helpful ideas for managing treatment and side effects. BWH Hackathon, Sept. 20-22
BWH iHub is pleased to announce its inaugural joint hackathon with BWH and MIT's H@cking Medicine, Sept. 20-22, in the Shapiro Conference Center. The event will bring together a diverse, multidisciplinary group to pitch problems impacting health care, develop solutions over a two-day period and present demonstrations of their solutions to a panel of judges for recognition. MITSS Hope Award
Nominations are now being accepted for the Annual Medically Induced Trauma Support Services (MITSS) HOPE Award, which recognizes patients, families, health care providers, hospitals, teams, academic institutions, community health centers and others that exemplify the MITSS mission of supporting, healing and restoring hope to those impacted by adverse medical events. The winner will receive a $5,000 cash prize. Nominations are due Sept. 13, and the winner will be announced at the MITSS annual dinner at the Westin Copley Place, Nov. 14.
