In This Issue:
At the close of our BluePrint celebration, BWH will seal a time capsule to be opened in 2063. We are crowd-sourcing photos, stories and ideas for items to include in the time capsule, which will be sealed in spring of 2014. Here's how to send in your submissions:
Photos
You are invited to submit photos of special events or everyday moments capturing life at BWH, including work in our mission areas of patient care, research, education and community outreach. To be considered for inclusion in the time capsule, photos should be taken between Nov. 15, 2012 and March 1, 2014. The BWH community will vote next spring to determine which photos should be included in a photo book for the time capsule.
To submit a photo, email it as an attachment to BWHTimeCapsule@partners.org by March 1, 2014. Please include the date and location of the photo; names, titles and degrees (if applicable) for any BWH staff pictured; and a brief caption. If patients are pictured, you must also include a signed patient consent form.
Stories
Each one of us has a story to share, and we'd love to hear yours! Whether it's about a memorable BWH event or everyday hospital life, you can email your story to us at BWHTimeCapsule@partners.org. To be considered for inclusion in the time capsule, your story should reflect an event that occurred between Nov. 15, 2012 and March 1, 2014.
Items
Email BWHTimeCapsule@partners.org with your great ideas about what to put in the time capsule! Items need to be able to survive 50 years, so we cannot include anything that melts, rots, rusts or gets moldy. We also can't include electronics, adhesives, rubber, PVAC and PVC plastic, wool or nylon, because these items will decay quickly or have the potential to release gasses that harm other items.

I love your whole concept regarding a time capsule, but does it have to be limited to the hospital side, or can it include those of the rest of us in the Partners family (corporate)?
Steve, thanks for your question about the time capsule. We’re happy to accept submissions from staff whose day-to-day work principally supports BWH, even if they are technically Partners employees. The time capsule will also include some background on the BWH/Partners relationship, to clarify that for people in 2063 when the time capsule is opened. Please let us know if you have any other questions!
