Coming back to Boston after spending 15 years in New York City and Washington, D.C., was a welcome transition for Pooja Devendran, who joined BWH late last year.
As executive director of Surgical Service Operations and Program Development, Devendran is responsible for BWHC surgical program development, as well as BWHC surgical services strategic planning across the distributed campus. She oversees areas including BWH’s main OR, the AMIGO suite, the Weiner Center for Pre-Operative Evaluation, the Comprehensive Breast Health Center and Ophthalmology.
“The people here at the Brigham are passionate about actively working across disciplines,” said Devendran. “It’s very exciting to now be a part of that.”
Devendran will provide leadership for the implementation and launch of Partners eCare, focusing on integrating the new enterprise-wide clinical and revenue system with existing workflows across BWHC perioperative and preprocedure sites. She will also assist with facilities planning in the OR and the Brigham Building for the Future.
Before joining BWH, Devendran worked in hospital operations for NYU Medical Center. She received her bachelor’s degree in biology and economics from MIT, and her MPH with a focus on health management from Columbia University. She was selected as an NYU Langone Medical Center Administrative Fellow, a program that is similar to BWH’s Deland Fellowship.
