If you need an excuse to enjoy an evening of chocolate, wine and art, the Friends of BWH has you covered.
The Friends group is hosting its annual “Art, Wine & Chocolate Affair” on Feb. 8, at the Liberty Hotel in Boston. Guests will have the opportunity to view and bid on at least 40 pieces of art while sipping wine and sampling chocolate in the striking lobby rotunda of the historic Beacon Hill hotel. The artwork ranges from paintings to jewelry to photography, and each piece is donated by a local artist.
“Last year’s first annual Art, Wine & Chocolate event was a smashing success, and the Friends are looking forward to another wonderful evening,” said Amy Yunes, the Friends’ president. “The proceeds have a direct impact on the lives of patients and employees. It’s a wonderful opportunity for BWHers and community members to help support the hospital’s mission.”
A portion of the proceeds will go toward the Friends’ $500,000 pledge to the BWH and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute blood mobile, which hosts blood drives throughout the state, providing the blood that is vital to patient care.
This year, famed bakery Georgetown Cupcakes, as seen on TLC’s reality show “DC Cupcakes,” will be one of the event’s three featured chocolate vendors, along with Oakleaf Cakes and Jacques Cohen, of Boston Gourmet Chefs.
