Marian Cheevers, PHR, was appointed director of HR Service Delivery on April 1.
Cheevers, who joined BWH in 2010 as an HR consultant, will provide strategic consultation and advice to employees on workplace issues. She also will oversee day-to-day operations for three managers and eight Human Resources generalists within the department and will work closely with the recruitment, organizational development and operations teams to ensure an integrated and seamless delivery of HR services to the BWH community.
“Our goal is to ensure that all employees feel comfortable and confident in reaching out to their generalist, manager or me with any issues that arise at work,” Cheevers said.
Next month, HR will kick-off a system-wide pilot designed to provide competency-based training which will ultimately improve customer service. Trainings based on the competency model for HR generalists will help to ensure they have a consistent and broad understanding of HR, which will enhance service to the departments they support, Cheevers said.
Prior to joining BWH, Cheevers served as director of Human Resources at Norwood Hospital, providing leadership for the day-to-day operations and strategic planning of the HR department.
She also has held positions at Innovative Solutions, an HR consulting practice, HMS Financial Group, a financial planning and investment business and Toward Independent Living and Learning, Inc., a human services agency.
Cheevers earned her master’s degree in education from Boston University, and her bachelor’s from Vassar College.
