The BWH LGBT Affinity Group is hosting a T-shirt design contest for BWH employees. The winning design will be featured on the group’s T-shirts for the Boston Pride Parade on June 9. Designs are due April 20 and should reflect this year’s parade theme of “Celebrating Worldwide Pride.” The winner will receive a $50 Amazon gift card. The BWH Global OB/GYN Women’s Health Division will host a showing of “No Woman, No Cry,” a documentary that details the personal stories of pregnant women and their caregivers in four countries, April 12, 5–6:30 p.m., in the Bornstein Amphitheater. Christy Turlington Burns, founder of Every Mother Counts and director and producer of the film, will answer questions. A reception will follow in the Cabot Atrium.
Learn how to present to various audiences during a 90-minute session called “What’s Your Point? Effective Strategies for Getting Your Message Across.” This event, co-sponsored by the Center for Faculty Development and Diversity and Communication & Public Affairs, is April 12, noon–1:30 p.m., at One Brigham Circle, room 4-002B. Register online through the BWH events calendar. Lunch will be provided. CME credit is available.
On April 26, BWH welcomes children ages 9 to 15 to learn about health care and diverse careers and roles at the hospital as part of “Take Our Children to Work Day.” If you are interested in bringing your child, complete a registration form, available on BWHPikeNotes.org, and return it to the Perks Office by April 20.
