Vatche Minassian, MD, MPH, recently joined BWH as the director of the Urogynecology Division within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. As director, he will work to further enrich the division’s clinical and research advances.
The Urogynecology Division at BWH provides state-of-the-art surgical and non-surgical treatments for a wide range of urogynecologic conditions, including urinary incontinence, minimally invasive surgery, interstitial cystitis and bladder pain syndromes, overactive bladder, pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic prolapse, post-surgical complications and urogynecologic fistula.
Prior to joining BWH, Minassian was the director of the Urogynecology Fellowship Program at Geisinger Health System of Danville, Penn. He graduated from American University of Beirut Faculty of Medicine and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of California, Los Angeles’ Olive View Medical Center, and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He also completed a fellowship in Urogynecology at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Toronto.
His research interests include urinary incontinence and associated conditions, the natural history of pelvic floor dysfunction, as well as clinical and surgical trials in Urogynecology.
