Scaffolding goes up soon on the buildings that face the 15 Francis St. entrance, and on April 1, the Peter Bent Brigham entrance closes to pedestrian and vehicular traffic as construction begins on the Patient Parking Garage. Learn more by attending one of three informational sessions to be held on Feb. 21, 27 and 29, 2:30 p.m., in Carrie Hall. The meetings are open to all staff and employees. Staff are reminded to always be alert, aware of their surroundings and to avoid walking alone or displaying valuables in light of a number of recent robberies that have occurred in the Mission Hill area, although not near the BWH campus. The victims of these crimes were walking alone and visibly displaying a pocketbook, bag or a cellular phone. The Boston Police Department is investigating and has focused patrols in the area where these incidents occurred. Please report any suspicious activities to the BPD at 911 or BWH Security at 617-732-6565.
Partners Employee Assistance Program has released its new Winter/Spring 2012 Seminar Series schedule. These lunch-time seminars are free to all employees and their household members. On Monday, Feb. 13, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Hand Hygiene Awareness Day will be celebrated at an information table outside the Shop on the Pike, hosted by Infection Control with the support of the Nursing Quality and Safety Improvement Committee. Information will be available about good hand hygiene and infection prevention. Bottles of Purell will be given out, and there will be a quiz on hand hygiene, with quiz entries entered into a drawing for prizes.
