Rachel Rosenblum in March joined BWH as the new administrative director for the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Endoscopy.
Rosenblum came to BWH from Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, where she served as the orthopedic service line administrator. Prior to that, she completed a post-graduate administrative fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. In her new position at BWH, Rosenblum is responsible for the administration of the division’s clinical, research and education programs.
“This position bridges all three arms of academic medicine, and I am thrilled to work with BWH’s clinical and administrative teams to optimize the delivery of patient care and facilitate the strategic growth of BWH’s GI services,” she said.
For the first time, endoscopy will be managed by the administrative director of GI services, and Rosenblum will oversee the centers at 75 Francis St. and 850 Boylston St. Her early efforts center on making endoscopy services easier and more efficient to access for patients and referring physicians. “There is a great deal of competition in the marketplace for endoscopy services, and it is critical that the entry points to our services are streamlined and easy to navigate,” she said.
Rosenblum, who earned a master’s in health administration from the University of North Carolina, has cared for diverse patient populations as an occupational therapist. “My passion for clinical care evolved into a desire to establish administrative systems and processes that optimize the care environment,” she said.
