On Friday, July 26, Partners hosted a luncheon celebration for individuals involved in Project RISE – the Reaching Individuals Striving for Excellence program – sponsored by Partners Community Benefits Programs. Project RISE is a federally funded employment program that matches Boston women transitioning off public assistance with entry-level openings within Partners hospitals. More than 100 women have entered jobs through the program over the course of four years.
After completing a rigorous eight-week job readiness training program, RISE graduates are placed into open, full-time entry-level positions at BWH and MGH. These employees are not only equipped with a variety of job skills and a complete benefits package, but also receive access to career counseling and support.
According to Alice Delgardo, project coordinator, the program is a win-win for Partners and the community, as it “satisfies Partners hospitals’ business need to fill openings with job-ready candidates and improves job retention while building a longstanding commitment to improve the health of underserved Boston neighborhoods.”
