To help both new and established employees navigate the complexities of BWH, the hospital this week provided departments and nursing units with the first-ever Brigham and Women's Hospital Employee Resource Guide. Developed as part of the Quality of Worklife initiative, this reference book provides vital need-to-know information about everything from how the hospital is organized to how to order supplies to how to read a pay stub. In addition, it contains information regarding Human Resources services, Information Systems services, management contacts for clinical and administrative departments, and information on how to access Materials Management, Mailroom, Telecommunications, and Parking. “Our hope is that the guide can inform all employees about the many benefits and services within this very complex hospital,” said Chief Operating Officer Matt Van Vranken. “The Quality of Worklife program is all about making it easier for all of us to do our jobs, and this guide is a significant contribution to that effort.” If you need to refer to the guide, please ask your manager. In the near future, the Employee Resource Guide will be accessible on the BWH intranet site and will beupdated annually. For more information on the guide and to provide feedback, call Maicharia Weir at ext. 7611 or Derek Czerwinski at ext. 6584.
