The Department of Public Works will be patching potholes in the Longwood Medical Area and repairing the trench on Longwood Avenue beginning Monday, August 21. This construction will take approximately three weeks. Longwood trench work will take place between 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on weekdays, and on weekends as well if necessary. MASCO has requested that this work be completed as fast as possible, before the post-Labor Day traffic begins. This work will most likely begin at the Riverway end of Longwood, and work towards Huntington Avenue. Patching on the side streets will take place between 7:30-9:30 a.m. Patching on the main streets will take place during daytime, off-peak hours. At least one lane of traffic will remain open in either direction at all times. A police detail will be present. Signs will be posted before construction with the proper dates and times of work scheduled to be done. Cars parked in the posted areas between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. will be towed.
