New Location for Norwood Practice
Brigham and Women's at Norwood and all of its specialty physicians will be relocating
from 449 Neponset Street to new and improved space located at 111 Morse Street
in Norwood. As part of this improvement, a new phone system has been installed
to answer calls in a more efficient manner. The physicians will begin seeing patients
in this new office starting Tuesday, November 16, 2004. The telephone and fax
numbers will remain the same. Any questions related to the move should be directed
to the Norwood office at 781-440-3700 or to the Practice Manager, Denise Garrow-Pruitt
at DGarrowpruitt@ partners.org.
“Open Access” Provides Ease of Scheduling for Patients/Providers
To better match scheduling capacity with demand, Partners is piloting an Open
Access program with select physician practices across the system. Brigham Primary
Physicians (BPP), located at Faulkner Hospital, embraced Open Access more than
three years ago before Partners piloted the program, and it has brought about
improved access and patient satisfaction as a result. According to Medical Director
Lisa Owens, MD, BPP’s current scheduling program carves out physicians’
schedules so that adequate same-day appointments are available and appointment
backlog is diminished. Like with practices involved in Phase I of the Open Access
pilot, “BPP’s schedules are more fluid, which is a win-win situation
for patients and physicians,” said Owens. BWH’s Southern Jamaica Plain
Health Center is part of Phase I of the Open Access pilot program. Phase II is
about to begin and will include Brookside Community Health Center, Brigham and
Women’s at Newton Corner and Brigham and Women’s Health Associates
(located at the Women’s Health Center at BWH), among others in the Partners
network. For more information on Open Access, contact Lori Keehl-Markowitz at
781-433-3039 or via email.
