Relocating the Medical Library
A Longwood Medical Area (LMA) disaster drill was held on July 30 that involved BWH, Faulkner Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Children’s Hospital and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, among other area institutions. The activation of the LMA Disaster – Joint Operations Center (JOC) was one of the major areas tested during the drill. Testing of the communication among the LMA parties and with the Boston Emergency Medical Services disaster radio took place. In addition, BWH had the opportunity to test-drive the newly renovated Duncan Reid Incident Command Center and the associated information and telecommunications systems. The drill went smoothly and systems proved to be effective.
