BWH mourns the loss of Thomas Peter Salem Albrecht, a security specialist for BWH’s Security Department. He passed away at his home last month at age 49.
Mr. Albrecht trained the majority of BWH’s security officers, leading by example. He had been a member of the Brigham family for the past 10 years. His coworkers describe him as a true professional always willing to lend a helping hand and share a smile.
“Thomas will forever be remembered here as a friendly face who provided assistance to patients, visitors and staff,” said colleague and friend Darren Lang, also of Security. “His work ethic was unmatched in his professionalism, and he made a lot of close friendships over the past decade. He will be missed.”
Mr. Albrecht enjoyed exercising regularly and riding his bike to work every day. He was also a talented singer.
He leaves behind a large loving family that includes his parents, two brothers, three sisters and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held at Forest Hills Cemetery last month.
