Juan Jaime de Zengotita
Juan Jaime de Zengotita, MD, an internist at Southern Jamaica Plain Health Center (SJPHC) for 10 years, is the health center's new medical director.
De Zengotita practices adult medicine, with the majority of his patients from Jamaica Plain's Spanish-speaking population. He has been instrumental in helping the center transition to a patient-centered medical home. As medical director, he will oversee SJPHC's medical staff and lead the center as it continues to provide exceptional community care. De Zengotita is also interested in improving access to primary care and supporting SJPHC's Health Promotion Center, which provides wellness tools and resources to the larger community.
Originally from Puerto Rico, de Zengotita grew up in New York and earned his BA from Harvard College and MD from Harvard Medical School. He completed his Internal Medicine training with the U.S. Navy.
He also works with BWH/BWFH's LGBT & Friends Employee Resource Group and is co-chair of the Harvard Gender and Sexuality Caucus, which serves LGBT alumni, graduate students, faculty and staff of Harvard University.
