Jose Mora, a native of Panama, matched with the Department of Medicine. His clinical interests include oncology, gastroenterology and infectious disease. During medical school, he also spent a year at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government studying public policy and its impact on health care. Ultimately, Mora aspires to combine his clinical interests with health policy, especially with the interface between health and human rights and the disparities in health care.
A fourth-year medical student at HMS, Mora has become familiar with the BWH teaching environment. “From the beginning I was struck by all BWH staff, including the attending physicians with whom I interacted,” said Mora. “They all worked extremely hard, and even after a tough call night, they were all still really positive about the program and the hospital, about medicine in general and especially taking care of patients.”
