Occupational Health will hold employee flu vaccination clinics throughout distributed campus locations through Nov. 15. Annual TB screening is also available. Visit BWHPikeNotes.org for a schedule of the clinics. Employees can also visit Occupational Health at the Neville House beginning Oct. 31 for vaccinations.
The Center for Community Health and Health Equity seeks volunteers for science clubs in nearby elementary schools. Volunteers will guide a group of elementary school students through hands-on science projects for one hour per week for six weeks. All materials and instructions will be prepared for volunteers. Operation Walk Boston hosts “Latin Night,” a fund-raiser event, Nov. 3, at 7 p.m., in the Lenox Hotel, Boston. Tickets are $100 and include entertainment by La Timbistica Quartet, a silent auction and a salsa dancing performance. Operation Walk Boston is a group of physicians and volunteers who perform free surgeries for patients in poverty-stricken countries. Contact Bill Florentino at 617-424-4338 for tickets.
The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) Training Program prepares employees to work as patient care assistants at the hospital. The program is offered as part of a collaboration with Bunker Hill Community College. After completion, students are awarded a Nurse Assistant Training Certificate and are eligible to take the Massachusetts licensing examination for Certified Nursing Assistants.
