BWH will begin a phased implementation of electronic time reporting on Sept. 18, 2011. On that date, non-exempt employees who currently use the Kronos Terminal (or time clock) to report their time will switch to the new system. This winter, all other non-exempt employees will transition to the electronic time reporting system. Visit BWHPikeNotes.org to learn more.
The BWH Diverse Leaders Affinity Group hosts a panel discussion on Sept. 20, noon - 1:30 p.m., in the Shapiro Breakout Room. Boxed lunches will be provided.
This week’s tip: Code Amber is the activation of the BWH Emergency Operations Plan. In the event of a Code Amber, your role is to review your department’s emergency plan and report to your supervisor for further instructions. Your department’s plan is located in Chapter 3 of the BWH Crisis Resource Manual (CRM). Visit BWHPikeNotes.org to learn about BWH’s Emergency Preparedness initiatives at one of this month’s events.
Two weeks remain for BWH employees to complete annual hospital education. Check for your assigned courses under Start > Partners Applications > Utilities > HealthStream. Courses must be completed by Sept. 30.
Information Systems is upgrading the majority of computers to Internet Explorer 8 this fall. All private computers at BWH will be upgraded in September, and clinical and public computers in October. The upgrade will occur between 1 and 5 a.m. and last approximately 10 minutes. During this time, a screen message will display alerting you that installation is in progress. Your computer will return to the log in screen once installation has completed. Visit BWHPikeNotes.org to learn more.
