New BWH study coordinators received a warm welcome with frosty treats during an ice cream social hosted by the Center for Clinical Investigation (CCI) last month. After pouring over an impressive selection of sundae toppings, the coordinators were introduced to many people throughout BWH and Partners HealthCare who will help them to be successful.
“The event was a great way for new coordinators to meet each other and people from many departments they will interact with in the coming months,” said Lisa Horton, the CCI’s education program coordinator.
BWH Bulletin caught up with some of these enthusiastic new study coordinators to get their perspectives.
“It was great to meet other people who are also starting out and to see the strong community that is already in place.”
“The Brigham is at the top of cutting edge research, and that’s one of the reasons why I wanted to work here. Events like this make you feel welcome and excited about starting out your career here.”
“I’m really looking forward to working with great investigators and study staff. I’m honored to be part of such exciting and interesting projects that are truly going to benefit medicine.
“This event was a fun way to meet other coordinators and make connections with people who will help me succeed at this job. Eventually I would like to become a physician assistant, so I’m excited to work with patients and learn more about the medical field.”
