Visitors to the lobby of 75 Francis St. now have a window into the culture of philanthropy at Brigham and Women’s/Faulkner Hospital (BW/F). The two interactive displays of the hospital’s Donor Wall went live last month, providing viewers with interesting insights into why people give to the hospital.
Before beginning their tour of the interactive display, users view a screensaver that consists of heartwarming testimonials from BW/F donors who talk about their connection to the hospital and why they give, covering everything from experiences in the neonatal intensive care unit to outstanding nursing care. Additional donor testimonials can be found on the Benefactor Wall touch screen, under “Donor Stories.”
The display also features a scrolling history of the hospital. Under the “History” heading, users will find a timeline of the hospital’s milestones, which can be moved with the swipe of a finger.
“I hope people will visit the display and learn more about our generous donors and the impact of philanthropy at our hospital,” said Jim Asp, vice president of Development and chief development officer.
The touch screens also detail the history and background of BW/F’s many giving societies, including BWH’s Hippocrates Society. Those who are interested in donating to the hospital can check out the “Get Involved Now” feature, which allows them to make a small gift right from their smartphones.
