Dennis Thomson Compassionate Care Scholar Awards Nomination Form
Established in 2000, the Thomson Compassionate Care Scholars Program aims to recognize care providers who embody the tenets of compassion and to give those individuals the opportunity to foster compassionate care among colleagues in their respective areas through small seed grants.
Feeling supported by colleagues and by the institution is important for individuals to be able to demonstrate compassion. Therefore, the goals of the program are to recognize care providers from any discipline who embody the tenets of compassion and to provide them with the opportunity to develop a project that will foster compassionate care in their clinical area.
Nominators must be leaders in the nominee’s clinical area. The nominator must be willing to provide the Scholar with the opportunity to develop and implement the compassionate care project. The award comes with a small honorarium that may be used for the project or the Scholar’s time.
