Last month, grateful NICU parents and their friends biked 100 miles around the South Shore to raise more than $82,000 for the BWH NICU and the Children’s Hospital NICU.
Billy and Alexis Reilly hosted the second annual Pedaling for Preemies bike ride to give back to both NICUs, where their son Will received incredible care and nurturing during his first 95 days of life. Baby Will was born 13 weeks premature in December 2006. “Were it not for the care he received, Will might not even be here today,” Billy Reilly said. “Now, at 21 months old, he is walking, talking and learning new things every day.”
In addition to friends and family, the Reillys were joined at the event by Robert Insoft, MD, medical director of the NICU, who cared for Will throughout his stay at BWH.
