Maureen Kelly last month was promoted to director of Operating Room Clinical Support Services (OR/CSS). In her new role, Kelly will oversee the OR/CSS department, which includes Central Processing, OR Materials Management, Cardiac Perfusion, Neuromonitoring and Anesthesia Support Services.
“Maureen has gained the support and confidence of her team in addition to surgical, nursing and anesthesiology leadership,” said Sanjay Pathak, vice president for Surgical Services and Imaging. “This promotion is a reflection of her demonstrated accomplishments, leadership skills and her commitment to service excellence.”
Kelly, who most recently served as interim director for OR/CSS, said she is honored to be director. “I love the fact that no day is the same, and I’m constantly learning from everyone I work with,” she said.
Kelly recently was instrumental in the planning and execution of the complex Shapiro OR and CPD moves. “It was a huge project that I was proud to be a part of. It was an amazing team effort that demonstrated the dedication to patient care of all who were involved,” said Kelly.
Kelly began her career at BWH in 2001 as a financial coordinator for OR/CSS. In 2003, she was promoted within the department to business manager, where she was responsible for managing administrative, financial and business functions. She earned a bachelor’s degree in health policy and management from Providence College and her MBA from the Graduate School of Management at Boston University.
