BWH made its partnership with Kyung Hee University in Seoul, South Korea, official last week during a special ceremony in the Cabot Atrium. The agreement, signed by BWH and Kyung Hee leadership, will link the talents of scientists from one of the largest hospitals in South Korea with those from BWH's Vascular Medicine Research Laboratory, led by cardiologist James Liao, MD.
As part of the collaboration, which spans across Partners and involves MGH's Stroke Center, South Korean scientists and clinicians will train in BWH and MGH laboratories while sharing insight on their clinical and scientific perspectives. Liao explained the agreement as an “opportunity to blend Eastern- and Western-style medicine to explore new therapies for cardiovascular disease and stroke.”
