As part of the Tobin Middle School Transition Program, eighth grade students are offered the opportunity to work at BWH and attend hospital department field trips. The experience provides an opportunity for students to acquire specific job skills, develop good work habits, and learn about health careers. This summer, 16 students are working in the hospital.
The students are pictured on a field trip to BWH’s MRT suite as they receive a demonstration from Dan Kacher, MRI senior research and clinical engineer (middle).
Established by BWH in 1994, the Tobin Middle School Transition Program promotes academic success in middle school students, builds health career knowledge and teaches core jobs skills to enable students to make a successful transition to high school.
