As technology continues to take the front seat in the evolution of medicine, BWH's Radiology and Neurosurgery Departments are keeping pace. In April, the ribbon cutting of the new interventional neuroradiology suite was the newest chapter of BWH's ability to apply the very latest state-of-the-art technology to optimize patient care delivery.

The neuro-interventional facility will be a strong addition to the newly created Cerebrovascular Center at BWH. “This new suite allows us to treat vascular disorders of the head and neck and brain tumors with the latest minimally invasive catheter-based techniques,” said Alexander Norbash, MD, director of Neuroradiology and of Endovascular Neurosurgery at BWH.
“Along with our sophisticated surgical techniques, this state-of-the-art equipment will allow us to provide the best possible care for patients with stroke and other cerebrovascular isorders” said Arthur Day, MD, director of the Cerebrovascular Center.
Norbash praised the vision of Steven Seltzer, MD, chair, Radiology, and Peter Black, MD, chair, Neurosurgery, for their collaborative work in this multidisciplinary initiative. “This new suite serves as a model for other leading medical centers across the country,” said Norbash.
