Sign up for Incident Command Training Sessions
Would you know how to respond if you were the first person to arrive at the scene of an incident in the hospital?
“The first person to respond serves as the incident commander until someone with more expertise in that area, like a manager, arrives,” said Barry Wante, BWH’s program manager for Emergency Preparedness. “It’s important for everyone to know how to respond to an incident within the hospital.”
Any physician interested in basic incident command training can sign up for a session online or an upcoming classroom session at BWH. Already, nearly 400 BWHers have completed the training during the past few years. Training provides staff with the knowledge to be the incident commander for a number of situations, and it reviews the procedure for responding to a larger hospital incident.
