With a goal of reaching a fair and equitable agreement for all sides, hospital and MNA negotiators continued to make progress toward a new contract. During September, the negotiating teams will meet four times to discuss a variety of issues, including wage and salary agreements.
“We are pleased with the talks so far,” said Nancy Kruger, vice president, Patient Care Services. “Both sides are working collaboratively in the best interests of the hospital and nurses. While there is much more work ahead of us, we feel that we’ve begun to establish a foundation of trust and respect.”
At the August 24 negotiating session the hospital made its initial economic offer and withdrew a number of its early proposals. The MNA Bargaining Team reciprocated on several issues. The current contract between BWH and the MNA expires September 30, 2000.
