A group of 19 physicians and three staff members from BWH, MGH, and Partners HealthCare had a chance to fulfill their childhood dreams—and support a good cause—on Friday, June 1, when they participated in a softball game at Fenway Park. Partners HealthCare was one of 12 teams to play in the third annual ABCD Field of Dreams tournament. The day-long event benefits Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD), Boston’s oldest anti-poverty agency. Team co-captains Patrick O’Gara, MD, BWH director of clinical cardiology, and Dennis Ausiello, MD, MGH Physician-in-Chief, led the Partners team to victory against the law firm of Palmer and Dodge. Established in 1962, ABCD serves more than 100,000 low income Boston residents every year. Its neighborhood programs include: Head Start, fuel assistance, adult literacy, child care, job training, education and housing programs throughout the city. From left to right, the Partners Field of Dreams team is (front row) Mason Freeman, MD; Gregory Couper, MD; Jesse Jupiter, MD; Joshua Beckman, MD; Susan Domchek, MD; Mark Creager, MD; (middle row) Victor Dzau, MD; Patrick O’Gara, MD; Andrew Sussman, MD; Dan Caufield; George Thibault, MD; Samuel Thier, MD; Dennis Ausiello, MD; (back row) Jay Loeffler, MD; Frank Haluska, MD; David Nathan, MD; Thomas Thornhill, MD; Michael Lanzisera; Richard Kuntz, MD; Frank Mihovan; and Robert Rizzo, MD.
