Diversity, Inclusiveness Workshops BWH's Diversity and Inclusiveness workshops will review important research that establishes the "bigger picture" variables of race and social structure that determine health. The first two workshops will be held Oct. 8, 4-6 p.m., and Oct. 31, 9-11 p.m., in the Patient Care Services Conference Room. Email mgreenwald@partners.org to register. Patient Safety Culture Survey On Oct. 20, BWH staff whose work directly impacts patient care will be asked to complete a survey to assess BWH's culture of patient safety. The confidential BWH Patient Safety Culture Survey will be distributed via email from Pascal Metrics with a link for online completion. The survey, which will take 10-15 minutes to complete, will help leadership understand the current culture of safety at BWH, identify areas for improvement and assess the effectiveness of BWH's improvement efforts. Temporary Entrance Closes With Stoneman Centennial Park and the 15 Francis St. entrance now open, the temporary 15 Francis St. pedestrian ramp, off of Huntington Avenue, has closed. The inbound shuttle stop has shifted to the new 15 Francis St. entrance. The outbound shuttle stop will remain outside the 7-Eleven.
Be a Pen Pal for local Students The Center for Community Health and Health Equity (CCHHE) is seeking employees to volunteer as pen pals to second and third grade students in nearby elementary schools. Volunteers will receive one letter every other month from their student pen pal and write one letter every other month back. All correspondence goes through CCHHE staff. Pen pals will have the opportunity to meet in person twice a year at designated events. Email paudeh@partners.org to learn more.
Operation Walk Boston Operation Walk Boston is seeking interested volunteers from Nursing, Physical Therapy and the Operating Rooms to join its ninth mission to the Dominican Republic for one week in March 2015.
