BWH mourns the loss of Mr. Scott D. Rudolf, a beloved member of the BWH Electrophysiology Lab team, who died unexpectedly on Sept. 22. He was 46.
Mr. Rudolf was born March 8, 1967, in Dixon, Illinois, and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1987 to 1994, which included a tour during the First Gulf War.
In 1996, he earned his radiology technologist's license from Eastern Maine Technical College, and after a few years of working at another hospital in the Longwood Medical Area, he joined BWH in 2010.
"If you're lucky, you may be fortunate enough in your lifetime to find someone whose unique perspective can paint your own outlook a brighter shade," said Mel Crotty, who worked with Mr. Rudolf. "He could permeate a room with infectious optimism and laughter. His spirit touched everyone from fellow technicians to nurses, vendors, housekeepers, students and physicians."
Mr. Rudolf is survived by his children, Mike Rudolf and Kaylee Wasilauskis; parents, Patricia and Larry Claussen; sisters, Stacy Anderson, Wendy Elzenberger, Lana Vaile, Linda Claussen and Stefanie Page; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Oct. 1 in the Mt. Morris Church of the Brethren in Illinois.
